Terms of Use
Yalla Bola · version 2026-09-terms-v5 · last updated 6 September 2026
The short version. Yalla Bola keeps score for card games, and now also helps people find a fourth. Use it without an account for as long as you like. If you make an account, be 16 or over and be honest about who you are. What you put where other people can see it — your photograph, a bola title, a group name — has to be something you have the right to post and that a stranger would not be harmed by. Do not use the app for gambling. The scores it produces are a convenience, not a court of appeal — the people at the table decide.
1. What this agreement covers
These terms are between you and Amr Khalifa, the publisher of Yalla Bola (“the app”). They apply when you use the app, with or without an account. The Privacy Policy forms part of them.
If you do not accept these terms, do not create an account. You may still use the app's scorekeeping without one.
2. What the app is
Yalla Bola is a scorekeeper and rules referee for card games — Estimation, Tarneeb and Trix — played with physical cards, by people in the same room. It does not deal cards, play hands, or let you play against anyone online.
It also helps people arrange those games: publishing a bola, asking for a seat, approving somebody, and confirming afterwards who turned up. The meeting itself happens between you and the other people, in the physical world, and we are not part of it. See section 7.
3. Your account
- An account is optional. Everything needed to score a game works without one, and always will.
- You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. Anyone may use the app without one.
- Give accurate information and keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- One person, one account. Do not impersonate anybody, and do not use a photograph of somebody else as your own.
- Tell us promptly if you think someone else has got into your account.
4. Acceptable use
Do not:
- Use the app for betting, wagering, staking money, or running any game of chance for money or anything of value. This is not negotiable, and it applies whether or not money passes through the app — which it never does. Do not advertise a stake in a bola title, a note or a group name.
- Post a photograph you do not have the right to post, or one showing somebody who has not agreed to it. Your profile photograph is visible to other people, and its file is served publicly.
- Post anything abusive, hateful, harassing, sexual, threatening, deceptive, or unlawful — in a photograph, a display name, a bola title, a note, or a group name.
- Choose a display name that is abusive, deceptive, impersonates someone else, or that you have no right to use.
- Use somebody's address, given to you because you took a seat, for anything other than going to that bola. Do not pass it on.
- Make a false report, or a false accusation that somebody did not turn up.
- Create bolas, groups or seat requests in bulk, or in a way that floods other people. The app enforces limits on how many of these one account may create in an hour, and reaching them is not a fault to be worked around.
- Try to break into other people's accounts or into our systems, or probe them for weaknesses.
- Automate, scrape, or hammer the service in a way that degrades it for others.
- Reverse-engineer the app except where the law says you may.
5. What you post, and taking it down
Your photograph, your display name, the bolas you write and the groups you name remain yours. We do not claim ownership of them and we do not sell them. By posting them you give us permission to store them and to show them to the people the app is designed to show them to — nothing wider, and only for as long as you keep them there.
Reporting. Anything visible to other people can be reported from inside the app. A report goes to a moderator.
Takedown. We may hide reported content immediately, before deciding whether the report was fair — because the harm of leaving something up while a person thinks about it is greater than the inconvenience of it being hidden for a day. We may then remove it, restore it, or suspend the account that posted it. Where we remove something or suspend an account, we will tell the person why, unless the law prevents it.
If it is yours and you disagree, write to support@yallabola.app and a person will look at it again.
You can remove your own photograph at any time, and deleting your account removes it outright.
6. Your data and your games
The games you score, the player names you enter and the rules you configure are yours. They are stored on your phone. If you turn on cloud backup, you are asking us to keep a copy so that you can get your games back on another phone. We store it for that purpose and no other. You can turn it off, and you can delete the account, at any time.
Deleting your account does not delete the games on your phone — they stay where they are, and you can carry on using the app as a guest.
The Privacy Policy says what is held, who can see it, and how to get a copy of it.
7. Meeting other people
We do not vet anybody. A rating and a show-up record say how somebody has played and whether they turned up. They are not a background check, they are not a safety guarantee, and they should not be read as one.
Deciding to meet someone, to give them your address, or to go to theirs, is your decision and yours alone. Meet in a place you are comfortable with. Tell somebody where you are going. We provide the introduction and nothing more, and we are not responsible for what happens when you meet.
Hosts: giving an address to confirmed players is a choice you make each time. Players: an address given to you is given for one bola.
8. Ratings, results and no-shows
A rated bola produces a result the players confirm, and it moves a rating. A player who disagrees can dispute it, which freezes the result until a moderator decides.
A host can record that somebody did not turn up. An accusation is not a verdict: it is held until it is corroborated or the person accused has had the chance to answer it, and only then does it appear on a show-up record. Making a false accusation is a breach of section 4.
Ratings and records are ours to calculate and to correct. We may void a result obtained dishonestly, and remove the rating changes that came from it.
9. About the scores
These games are played to house rules that differ from table to table, town to town and family to family. The app computes scores according to the ruleset you configure, and it stores a frozen copy of those rules with each game so that later changes never rewrite an old result.
The app is a convenience for the people at the table. It is not an authority, and it does not settle arguments. If the app and the table disagree, the table is right. We are not responsible for the outcome of any game, or for anything wagered on one — which, per section 4, should be nothing.
10. Availability
Scorekeeping works offline and does not depend on us being online. The account service, the public feed and notifications may be unavailable from time to time for maintenance or for reasons outside our control. We do not promise uninterrupted availability of them, and their absence never stops you scoring a game.
11. Changes to the app and to these terms
The app will change over time; features may be added, altered or removed. If these terms change materially, the version identifier at the top changes, and the app will ask you to read and accept the new version the next time you sign in. If you would rather not accept, you can delete your account and keep using the app as a guest.
12. Ending it
You may delete your account at any time — see the Privacy Policy for how. We may suspend or close an account that breaches section 4, and we will tell you why unless the law prevents it. A suspension can be appealed at the address in section 5.
13. No warranty, and limits on liability
The app is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties about it, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data on your device. We are not liable for the conduct of other users, whether in the app or in person. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence — and nothing here affects any consumer rights you have under the law of your country.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the courts of Egypt have jurisdiction. If you use the app from elsewhere, you keep any mandatory consumer protections of your own country.
